Description
Overview
The Type 1230 High Flow Gas Pressure Regulator is a direct-operated pressure reducing regulator designed for natural gas, compressed air, and inert gas applications. Developed for demanding oil and gas service, the Type 1230 provides reliable pressure control across a broad range of outlet pressures and operating conditions.
Built upon the proven design of the Type 1227, the Type 1230 expands application flexibility by offering outlet pressure ranges from 27 psig to 500 psig. This makes it an excellent solution for high-pressure gas systems and multi-stage pressure reduction applications where precise downstream control is required.
Available in 1″ and 2″ NPT body sizes with multiple orifice sizes and seat material options, the Type 1230 can be configured to support a wide variety of flow capacities, media requirements, and operating environments.

How to Select the Right Configuration
Selecting the correct Type 1230 depends on required outlet pressure, flow demand, gas type, and installation requirements.
- Select the 27-50 psig range for lower pressure reduction applications
- Select the 46-95 psig or 90-150 psig ranges for intermediate pressure control
- Select the 150-200 psig, 200-275 psig, or 275-500 psig ranges for high-pressure applications
- Choose 1″ NPT body size for compact installations and moderate flow requirements
- Choose 2″ NPT body size for maximum flow capacity
- Select NACE construction for sour gas and corrosive environments
- Choose nylon valve disks for higher pressure applications above 150 psig
- Select CTFE valve disks when media compatibility requires enhanced chemical resistance
- Choose stainless steel trim for increased corrosion resistance
