Description
Overview
The Type 1227 High Flow Gas Pressure Regulator is a direct-operated pressure reducing regulator designed for natural gas, compressed air, and inert gas applications. Engineered specifically for the oil and gas industry, the Type 1227 delivers dependable pressure control across a wide range of operating conditions while supporting high flow rates and demanding field installations.
Available in 3/4″, 1″, and 2″ body sizes, the Type 1227 offers multiple orifice sizes, elastomer options, and pressure ranges to accommodate diverse flow and pressure requirements. The regulator’s modular design allows trim replacement without removing the regulator from the pipeline, reducing maintenance time and simplifying field service.
With optional downstream pressure monitoring, NACE MR0175 construction, and tamper-resistant adjustment protection, the Type 1227 provides flexible and reliable pressure control for upstream, midstream, and industrial gas applications.

How to Select the Right Configuration
Selecting the correct Type 1227 configuration depends on flow requirements, operating pressure, gas type, and installation conditions.
- Select 3/4″ body size for lower flow applications
- Select 1″ body size for increased capacity while maintaining compact installation
- Select 2″ body size for maximum flow requirements
- Choose smaller orifices for precise low-flow regulation
- Select larger orifices for high-flow gas distribution applications
- Choose NACE construction for sour gas and corrosive environments
- Select the monitoring option when downstream pressure sensing is required
- Choose fluorocarbon components for compatible process media and temperature conditions
- Select stainless steel trim when enhanced corrosion resistance is required
