Description
Overview
The Type 1005V Electronic Vacuum Regulator provides precise electronic control of vacuum pressure from 0 to -14.5 psi (0 to -1 bar / 0 to -100 kPa). Designed for automated pneumatic and process control systems, the Type 1005V accepts either a 0-10V or 4-20mA input signal and uses closed-loop electronic control to maintain the commanded vacuum level.
The Type 1005V incorporates two solenoid valves, an internal pressure transducer, and an electronic control board that performs PID closed-loop control. One solenoid valve controls the vacuum inlet while the second functions as a vacuum breaker. The internal pressure transducer continuously senses vacuum pressure and provides feedback to the electronic board, which adjusts the valves until the target vacuum level is reached.
With ±0.1% full-scale repeatability and linearity, ±0.5% full-scale accuracy, multiple control and monitor signal configurations, and IP65 compliance, the Type 1005V provides responsive and repeatable vacuum control for industrial automation and process applications.

How to Select the Right Configuration
Selecting the correct Type 1005V configuration depends on the required control signal, monitor output, pressure display, port connection, and application requirements.
- Select the 4-20mA control signal for industrial current-loop control systems
- Select the 0-10V control signal for voltage-based control systems
- Choose the 4-20mA monitor output when current-loop feedback is required
- Choose the 0-10V monitor output for voltage-based feedback systems
- Choose the 1-5V monitor output when a lower-voltage feedback signal is required
- Select the standard vacuum range for control from 0 to -14.5 psi (0 to -1 bar / 0 to -100 kPa)
- Consult ControlAir for custom pressure range requirements
- Select the BSP Ports option when BSP process connections are required
- Select the kPa Display option when vacuum pressure should be displayed in kPa rather than the standard PSI display
- Consult ControlAir when power requirements differ from the standard 24V DC configuration

Principle of Operation
The Type 1005V uses a closed-loop control system consisting of two solenoid valves, an internal pressure transducer, and an electronic board performing PID control. Based on the electrical input signal, one solenoid valve opens the vacuum inlet while the second valve acts as a vacuum breaker.
When vacuum needs to increase, the inlet valve acts on the internal piston and allows air to be withdrawn. The internal pressure transducer measures the resulting vacuum level and sends feedback to the electronic control board. The controller then operates the two valves as required until the commanded vacuum level is achieved.
