Description
Overview
The Type 850 Miniature Air Pressure Regulator is a compact, economical regulator designed to provide accurate downstream pressure control for compressed-air applications. Developed specifically for OEM equipment and installations with limited space, the Type 850 combines dependable performance with a lightweight design and flexible mounting options.
Its highly sensitive diaphragm-operated design avoids the sticking problems that may occur with piston-style regulators. A molded rubber supply valve supports accurate regulation and helps minimize leakage, providing consistent performance across changing flow demands.
Available with 1/8″ or 1/4″ NPT and BSP connections, the Type 850 supports output pressure ranges from 0-5 psig through 0-100 psig. Relieving operation is standard, with a non-relieving option available for constant-flow systems or applications that provide separate downstream pressure relief.

How to Select the Right Configuration
Selecting the proper Type 850 configuration depends on connection type, required outlet pressure, relieving requirements, and mounting method.
- Select 1/8″ NPT porting for compact North American pneumatic installations.
- Select 1/4″ NPT porting when a larger connection is preferred.
- Select 1/8″ BSP or 1/4″ BSP porting for systems using British Standard Pipe connections.
- Choose the 0-5 psig range for very low-pressure control applications.
- Choose the 0-15 psig range for low-pressure instrumentation and OEM equipment.
- Choose the 0-30 psig range for general low-pressure pneumatic control.
- Choose the 0-60 psig range for common industrial compressed-air applications.
- Choose the 0-100 psig range for higher-pressure pneumatic systems.
- Use the standard relieving configuration when downstream pressure must vent through the regulator as the setpoint is reduced.
- Select the non-relieving option for constant-flow systems or applications with separate downstream pressure relief.
- Add the mounting bracket for side mounting to a machine frame or support surface.
- Add the panel nut when the regulator will be mounted through a control panel.
