Description
Overview
The Type 595XP Explosion-Proof I/P Transducer converts a 4-20 mA electrical current signal into a linearly proportional pneumatic output pressure. Its open-loop conversion technology provides the accuracy and repeatability required to operate actuated valves and other pneumatic final control elements in hazardous industrial environments.
A low-mass control circuit helps maintain consistent output in high-vibration applications. The compact transducer can be mounted in any position and is available in three configurations: a ported model with an integral flow booster, a ported low-flow model without a booster, and a manifold-mount low-flow model that can attach directly to a pneumatic valve positioner.
The Type 595XP combines an explosion-proof NEMA 4X/IP65 enclosure with worldwide hazardous-area approvals. Available certifications include FM, CSA, ATEX, and UKCA depending on the selected configuration.

How to Select the Right Configuration
Selecting the correct Type 595XP configuration depends on flow requirements, mounting method, pneumatic connection, output range, ambient temperature, conduit standard, and required hazardous-area certification.
- Select the ported model with flow booster when the connected actuator or control device requires flow up to 2.4 scfm.
- Select the ported model without a booster for low-flow applications requiring 1/4″ NPT pneumatic connections.
- Select the manifold-mount model for direct mounting to a valve positioner or manifold interface.
- Choose the 3-15 psig output for standard valve-positioning applications.
- Choose the 3-27 psig or 6-30 psig output when a wider or higher pneumatic control range is required.
- Verify that supply pressure is at least 5 psig above the maximum required output.
- Select the M20 x 1.5 conduit option when required by the electrical installation standard.
- Select the 1/2″ NPT conduit option for standard North American conduit connections.
- Choose the low-temperature option for ambient temperatures below -40°F.
- Add the 2-inch pipe bracket kit when pipe mounting is required.
- Use only clean, dry, oil-free instrument air filtered to 40 microns.
