Overview
The ControlAir Type 2000 CA2000 P/P Pneumatic Valve Positioner provides stable and accurate positioning of rotary and linear pneumatic control valves. Designed for applications using a standard 3-15 psig pneumatic input signal, the CA2000 continuously controls actuator pressure to help the valve accurately follow the commanded position.
The Type 2000 uses a force-balanced operating principle designed for simple calibration, maintenance, and field service. Performance Characteristics
The CA2000 uses a pneumatic input signal to position the valve actuator through a force-balanced mechanical feedback system. As the pneumatic input signal changes, the positioner adjusts its output pressure to move the actuator. Mechanical feedback from the valve or actuator returns to the positioner until the commanded input and actual valve position are balanced.
This closed-loop pneumatic positioning provides better control of actual valve position than actuator pressure alone. The CA2000 delivers published linearity error of less than 0.7% of full scale, hysteresis below 0.4% of full scale, and repeatability below 0.3% of full scale.
Its high-gain pilot valve also provides substantial pneumatic flow capacity for responsive actuator movement. Flow increases from 9.5 SCFM at 29 psig supply to 47.1 SCFM at 145 psig supply, supporting a range of pneumatic valve actuator sizes.
