AMHERST, NH, USA – September, 2012- – On August 16, 2012, the US Environmental Protection Agency published the following final rule: Oil and Gas Sector New Source Performance Standards and National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutant Reviews – (EPA-HQ-OAR-2010-0505). Under this rule, continuous bleed natural gas-driven pneumatic controllers between the wellhead and natural gas processing plant or oil pipeline must have a bleed rate not greater than 6 scfh. The industry has until October 15, 2013 to be in compliance.
The ControlAir model 950XP explosion-proof I/P Transducer with Natural Gas option, with a bleed rate of only 3 scfh, comes in at HALF the allowable rate. This model has FM, CSA, and ATEX approvals for use with natural gas, and comes with a tapped exhaust and sealed conduit. The 950XP is also extremely accurate and durable. Its internal feedback design results in overall accuracy of 0.1% of span. It is not affected by vibration and change of mounting position. It is available with preset output ranges of 3-15, 3-27, and 6-30 psig. It is also available with a field selectable option, allowing the ability to change output range in the field.
ControlAir’s markets include process control, semiconductor, printing and converting presses, diagnostic and surgical medical equipment, robotics, quality control, automotive, analyzers, compressors, pumps and paint equipment.
