January, 2014- – ControlAir Inc., a leading manufacturer of precision pneumatic and electro-pneumatic control products, today announced they are expanding their product offering to include a new miniature potable water pressure regulator. The new Type-870 is an addition to ControlAir’s Type 850/860 Miniature Air and Water Series. The Type-870 is designed for OEM equipment used in potable (drinkable) water and food contact systems. Materials in contact with water are approved by National Sanitation dation (NSF) or the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in potable water systems. Elastomers in the Type-870 are food grade.
The Type-870 Miniature Potable Water Pressure Regulator is ideal for any application that calls for accurately maintained output potable water pressure control. Applications include equipment manufacturers in the foodservice, dental, medical, and agricultural industries.
ControlAir’s Type-870 uses a highly sensitive diaphragm-operated design which delivers accurate downstream pressure by eliminating the problems caused by sticking in piston designs utilized by competitors. A molded rubber supply valve provides accurate regulation and helps prevent leakage. The body is made of NSF electrodeposited chromium plated zinc. The bonnet and valve seat are FDA approved acetal. Diaphragm and O-ring are made of food grade nitrile/nylon and the valve plug is made of lead-free brass and food grade nitrile. The Type-870 Potable Water Pressure Regulator is available in 1/8” or 1/4″ NPT & BSP porting. Flow capacity is 2.2 gal/min. Maximum supply pressure is 150 psig (10 BAR). Two gauge ports and an optional reversible mounting bracket allow front or back mounting. A wide temperature range of 0º to 150º F (-18º to 60º C). The Type-870 Miniature Potable Water Pressure Regulator weighs 4.0 oz. (113 g).
